Kuala Lumpur city offers its visitors a wide range of sky bars that will spoil you for choices. This vibrant and bustling city’s sunset views are not meant to be missed. Sky bars are one of THE best ways to enjoy them.
Looking for a non-bias unsponsored post on which sky bars to visit in Kuala Lumpur city other than Google ratings? No worries! This article is meant to cover your need for a wonderful evening with your friends and loved ones.
Without the shadows of doubt, sky bars are generally expensive but these recommended sky bars will not hurt your wallet too much. I strongly believe in affordable luxury. They are all in the range of RM 200-300 (50 -75 USD) for 2 people for snacks and drinks.
1. Fuego, Troika Sky Dining @ The Troika, Persiaran KLCC
Fuego, Troika Sky Dining is one of the most popular sky bars around Kuala Lumpur city. Its strategic location offers a great view of KL city. The view and quality of F&B here is none to second.
However, they are also one of the slightly pricier ones. Cocktails range from RM38-46 (excluding 10% service and 6% government tax). Desserts start from RM30 while the lowest food price is at RM28 for a guacamole.
Music is slow and not too loud. Thus, it is a good place for friends to catch up and enjoy the city’s view. Best to contact Fuego for reservations a week earlier as they seems to be always be full.
Opens daily : 6pm-10.30pm
2. Man Tao Bar @ The Stripes Hotel, Jalan Kamunting
This bar is currently the most tranquil sky bar to enjoy the sunset as it is relatively new and not known to many. So, if you are in KL now or soon, grab the chance to visit this bar sky bar before it gets overcrowded. Prices are lower than Fuego for sure.
Patrons of Man Tao Bar informs that the cocktails here are mainly made with Chinese beer, Tsingtao. Next level of beer mixology can be found here. Does Man Tao Bar serve man tao (Chinese buns)? Yes, they do! As per their website:
“Enjoy cloud-like Chinese steamed buns with a variety of delicious filling best paired with Tsing Tao beer cocktail.”
Open from Tuesdays-Saturdays: 7pm-12am
3. Heli Lounge @ Menara KH, Jalan Sultan Ismail
My all-time favourite sky bar in KL city! They definitely offer the best 360-degree view of KL city at the top of an actual helipad.
It is reasonably priced especially for a bottle of wine that permits entrance for 2 patrons. A bottle of wine is priced as low as RM180 (approx 50 USD). If you are only keen to get cocktails or some other drinks, it all starts from RM15 (approx. 4 USD). However, I do not suggest to try out their main meals there. Their food is not up to my expectations.
Remember to call in for a reservation if you would like to guarantee a seat as it is uber popular even among locals thanks to its reasonable prices. You can either call (+60 3-2110 5034) or drop them a message on Facebook to make your reservations.
Friday & Saturday: 5pm-3am
4. Canopy Rooftop Lounge & Bar @ Jalan Mayang, Kampung Baru
Canopy may not be a sky-high kind of sky bar but it is the one and only rooftop bar where you can enjoy KLCC Twin Towers view with shisha. The average cost for 2 people here is RM100 which is 25 USD.
They have self-proclaimed to be the best cocktails and shisha lounge. I support this self-proclamation as I enjoyed their cocktails better than any of the other sky bars.
For a sweet cocktail, try out their Paloma which is a tequila cocktail.
5. Skybar @ Traders Hotel, KLCC
Traders Hotel is right opposite the KLCC Twin Towers and thus, offers you a great view of the twin towers from its sky bar. Within the sky bar is the hotel’s swimming pool!
So, in this sky bar, you can enjoy your drinks while you swim as long as it is before 7 pm. Swimming pool section closes off at 7 pm but the area is open until 3 am.
Skybar is not as cheap as no.2,3 nor 4 and price is relatively comparable to Fuego. However, if all you are looking for is a sky bar for a great view, swimming pool, dance area and great music, this will be the place to go to.
There is a small dance area in between the DJ console is the swimming pool. Be careful not to get drunk here or risk falling into the swimming pool. *Jokes*
